The Tignalese territory extends from the mountains to Lake Garda which, thanks to the constant wind for a good part of the day, offers the possibility of practicing sailing, wind surf, kite surf and wing foil, making it a highly sought-after destination for enthusiasts of these sports.
THE PORT OF TIGNALE
Tignale’s port is a few kilometers far from the upland and it is easily reacheable thanks to the daily Shuttle Bus service and also through a path that descends straight/steep over the lake. The port it is also known as “Prato della Fame” or in local dialect “Pra dela Fam” (Field of hun-ger), because in the past this was a communication route that linked Tignale’s villages with the major centres on the lake. The name derives from the fact that this parcel of coast served as a shelter during the violent storms that now and again interested the lake. Sailors that were caught in these storms would stop in this bay and rested for a few days, very often with nothing to eat. Once at the port, it is possible to relax on the beach that is equipped with many facilities (a part is also reserved to pets). Moreover there is also the possibility to practice and learn: windsurf, kitesurf stand up paddle, mega-sup, kayak, and sail ball.
